Description
Fabulously flamboyant Tulip 'Red Wave' has a big personality and brings a touch of drama to the late spring garden. As befits a member of the Parrot group of tulips, it has the dramatic plumage of an exotic jungle bird! Beautiful curled and twisted petals stand out in dusky, moody pink, highlighted by strong green flames down the centre. Frilled and curled edges really do give the appearance of feathers. The more this incredible bloom unfurls, the more spectacular Tulip 'Red Wave' looks—a really special performance for the final act of the tulip season.
A close cousin of the famous and equally fabulous Tulip 'Green Wave', Tulip 'Red Wave' would look wonderful planted alongside it, or with other dramatic Parrot varieties. This is a great way to extend your tulip season into late spring, whether that’s in a container or pot display, or in the ground. Tulip 'Red Wave' also has a very long vase life, up to 3 weeks, so they make a really valuable addition to the cutting garden.
