The Ixia, or Corn Lily, offers you the chance to create your own personal galaxy with its brightly-coloured star-shaped flowers. Extremely fragrant, the multiple Ixia blooms cluster together on long flower spikes, offering a stunning display of colour combinations, spots and light brushstrokes on their delicate, scooped petals. Ixias will make a great contribution to bouquets or indoor arrangements, but Ixia will prefer greenhouse living to taking on the cold in cooler areas as they are used to a hot and dry climate back home in Southern Africa. Cutting the Ixias' flower spikes for display purpose will not damage the plant- but it might disappoint any visiting bees which are attracted by the flower and fragrance.
