Collection: Leucanthemum bare roots

Often referred to as Shasta daisies, Leucanthemum are indispensable garden plants, producing showy, usually white daisy flowers. A profusion of blooms is produced in the summer months. Originally from Europe and northern Asia, these plants never fail to please. The dark green leaves of Leucanthemum are carried all the way up the stems, at the tops of which are large, typical daisy-like flowerheads, held either singly, or more rarely in small groups. You will probably notice that these flowers turn through the day, following the path of the sun.

The white outer petals (known as ray florets) are female and fertile, while the inner disc florets (the eye of the flower) are yellow, and have a spongy base. Most flowers are good for cutting.

For best results, plant your Leucanthemum bare roots in full sun, although light shade is tolerated. In windy gardens, taller varieties are best staked, to prevent them flopping over other plants.
