Collection: Gladiolus corms

Gladiolus corms (some people will call them Gladiolus bulbs), are the heralds of stately blooms and come in a spectrum of vivid colours. These summer-blooming perennials, often referred to as sword lilies due to their tall, blade-like foliage, provide vertical drama and vibrant splashes to gardens and landscapes. Easy to plant and maintain, Gladiolus corms are perfect for beginner and seasoned gardeners alike. Planted in the spring, they reward you with showy spikes of flowers through the summer months. Their impressive display is not only a feast for the eyes in garden beds but also as long-lasting cut flowers, bringing elegance indoors!

Gladioli have tall flower spires carrying multiple blooms. They're easy to grow, provided you use a sunny location and plant them in soil with good drainage. Gladioli come in a wide range of single and bi-colour flowers that open in sequence from the bottom of the flower spike to the top. Vulnerable to being bowed by the wind, or the flower spire's weight, gladioli need shelter from summer storm winds and staking will help keep taller varieties upright. The tall Gladiolus varieties (up to 1.8m) provide a colourful vertical backdrop to beds, while their smallest siblings, at only 60cm tall, love the front row in borders. Storing your Gladiolus bulbs for Winter may be necessary in harsh zones.
