Description

Let the wild winds blow! The spiky star-shaped bracts of sea holly are known as being among the most robust of all flowering perennials. True to name, with its relatively compact stems Eryngium 'Victory Blue' will surely be victorious in even the most exposed and windswept of gardens, of course including coastal gardens. Whilst it’s a favourite for seaside schemes, this drought tolerant variety doesn't insist on sea views—it will work just as well inland too. The defiantly upright stems and hard-wearing sea holly flowers look great until the very end of summer, unfolding in drifts of silvery sky-blue.

The snowflake-like bracts of Eryngium 'Victory Blue' work brilliantly as flowers, and will dry exceptionally well, retaining that beautiful hue to become an everlasting bloom than can be used at any time of year. It's fair to say that Eryngium planum 'Victory Blue' is worth its salt in any cutting patch, mixed border or coastal garden. This hardy perennial thrives in full sun, and just loves a free-draining, gravelly or sandy soil. In fact—they don't mind making themselves at home in shallow, poor soils, so can be a perfect choice for those tricky dry areas where leafier plants might struggle to find a foothold.

Eryngium flowers are popular as a filler in dried arrangements and add a touch of wild, natural beauty to any bouquet.
