Description
Tulip 'Ice Lolly' is a particularly vibrant, striking bi-colour tulip. It produces gorgeous spring blooms that are predominately yellow, but also have shades of hot red at the base. These blooms really do stand out from other flowers—even other tulips. By early spring, the bulbs throw out new growths up to 25-35cm in height, surrounded by the slender, pale green foliage. The flowers are at their very best in April-May.
Tulip 'Ice Lolly' is ideal for beds and borders and, because it is shorter than many tulips, it is especially popular for pots and planted patio containers. It is also a very good hybrid tulip for using as a cut flower for the vase. When established, bulbs will become clump-forming the longer they are in the ground. They grow best in moist, but well drained soil which is slightly acidic. Tulip 'Ice Lolly' is in the Tulip Group 3 (Triumph Group).
