Description
These Eremurus — or Foxtail Lilies — are unlike anything else in the summer garden! Eremurus 'Ruiter Hybrid Mix' are stately, grand, and will take your breath away when they are in full flower. Huge, long flower spikes come in dusky, pastel shades that are fluffy in appearance (not unlike a fox's tail!). Hundreds of tiny flowers appear on each tall spike, gradually opening from the bottom to the top.
Eremurus × isabellinus 'Ruiter hybrids' are an old and trusted strain, producing a mix of pale flower shades from yellows, coppers and reds, to pink and creamy white, and all shades in between. Because of their height, they are ideally suited to the back of a flower border. They will give a classic cottage garden feel to any mixed border garden, and they also fit perfectly well in a modern, sleek and streamlined garden!
Eremurus need winter cold in order to induce flowering the following summer, but they appreciate good winter drainage, and ideally some mulch to give roots added frost protection. During the growing season they like plenty of sunlight and warmth. Eremurus establish into clumps that slowly grow, year-on-year. They also make wonderful cut flowers for indoor arrangements.

Plant your Eremurus 'Ruiter Hybrid Mix' bulbs from mid to late autumn
Plant in borders in a sunny, sheltered position
Soak your "Foxtail lily" bulbs/roots in water for 2-3 hours prior to planting
Dig a hole 15-20cm deep for the whole bulb with a peak of light soil, grit, sand or gravel in the centre so that the crown is shallower than the roots
Plant with the crown just below the soil surface with any visible shoots or 'eyes' facing upwards, and the roots angled downwards
Space the Eremurus 'Ruiter Hybrid Mix' bulbs 15-20cm apart
