If you appreciate cannas for their remarkable foliage, you’ll love this collection which comprises four of the best in terms of leaf appeal, namely 'Durban', 'Monique', 'Pretoria' and 'Stuttgart'. Not only do the towering stems of exotic, intricately marked and colourful foliage provide an impressive impact through the summer months, but just when you thought they couldn’t get any better they throw out a grand finale of bright flowers to end the season with a loud bang.
Cannas are happiest in a sunny border and fit in well whether you have a tropical style or a full mixture of plants. Providing a long season of interest starting from May when it’s safe to plant them outside, they make an impressive ascent from small leafy plants into tall, upright pillars (up to 1.5m) all in the space of a season. They’re a joy to watch as the summer progresses, reaching their peak in summer with a stately presence which never goes unnoticed!

Soak your Canna 'Lush Leaves' roots in water for 3-6 hours prior to planting.
Plant your bare roots into temporary pots with a multipurpose compost in spring and grow-on in a sheltered spot outdoors.
Choose a pot which comfortably fits the bare roots. Some have a noticeable crown which should be just below the soil surface with any top growth exposed.
Plant out into borders or permanent containers in late spring or early summer once in full growth. Choose a position in sun or shade depending on the variety.
