Bask in a moonbeam glow of gorgeous Dahlia 'Fleurel' this summer! These flowers are so large, pristine and incredibly petal-packed that they will illuminate your planting scheme like sparking spotlights. Of course, Dahlia 'Fleurel' also makes excellent cut flowers and as you might imagine, a bunch of these squeaky-clean blooms with loosely curved petals is simply extraordinary and effortlessly luxurious. Whether you’re sticking to an all-white garden, or like a full colour mélange, simple yet spectacular Dahlia 'Fleurel' will be a highlight of the summer.

Dahlia 'Fleurel' is easy to grow and will treat you to a long season of petal perfection as it blooms continuously from mid-summer to autumn. Deadhead or cut the flowers regularly and more will grow to replace them! Give your Dahlia 'Fleurel' a sunny spot in a border or large container and watch in wonder as it begins to work its marvellous magic. Whether it’s sunny or overcast, bright Dahlia 'Fleurel' will shine like a star.

Standing tall and proud on sturdy stems like a living candelabra adorned with nature's finest wax, Dahlia 'Fleurel' refuses to blend into the floral background. She's a botanical superstar with a flair for the spectacular, capturing the eye and the imagination. Whether you're a green-thumbed guru or a budding garden enthusiast, Dahlia 'Fleurel' will grace your outdoor space with charm, poise, and an undeniable touch of class.

Make way in your beds or borders for this voluptuous beauty. And rest assured, when the summer sun is just right, and Dahlia 'Fleurel' is in full bloom, neighbours might whisper across the fence line: "Is that a garden or an art exhibition?"

Useful information

    • Dahlia 'Fleurel' is half hardy, which means that it should be kept frost free over winter and during spring.

    • For best results, start your dahlia tubers in temporary pots in a
greenhouse in March or April to grow on to transplant outside later in the season—this will give them a head start.

    • Alternatively, you can plant the Dahlia 'Fleurel' tubers directly outside in May.

    • Plant with the stump of last year's stem facing upwards. The tuber should be fully submerged but with the stump just below the soil surface.

    • Plant one tuber per 8-10" pot if growing on during spring. When
planting outside, space the tubers around 30-50cm apart from each other. Compact varieties don’t need so much space.

    • Water-in thoroughly after planting and continue to water regularly once in full growth, but only when the soil appears to be nearly dry.

Dahlias in 60 seconds

Dahlias like full sun and a free-draining soil, and should be lifted and stored in winter, or at least protected with peat or straw. Dahlia flowers can range from 5 to 25cm in diameter and those magnificent larger-flowering dahlias might appreciate a little extra support with canes!
