Description
OnTop® Begonia 'Fandango' is a speciality hybrid begonia that produces double flowers of a beautiful pale salmon orange, with each petal having a scarlet-orange edge. Depending on when planted, the first blooms can appear as early as late spring, and they keep coming until the autumn frosts. The attractive, serrated heart-shaped leaves are dark green throughout the growing season!
⚠️ Please note: OnTop® begonias grow from relatively small tubers, but these special varieties produce some of the most spectacular blooms. Don't be alarmed if the bulbs appear smaller than you expect from us — good things come in small packages!
'Fandango' performs best, when grown in a patio container, windowbox or hanging basket, in either partial or full shade. It is easy to grow and care for, and simplicity itself to keep the flowers coming!
OnTop® Begonias are durable plants, early flowering, compact and heat tolerant with an exceptionally long blooming period. And remember, the more you feed Begonia × tuberhybrida 'OnTop® Fandango' during the growing season, the more flowers will be produced.

Useful information

Begonia 'OnTop® Fandango' tubers are tender and require protection from frost. For best results, start them off in temporary pots in a greenhouse in March or April to give them a head start. They can then be transplanted outside in May.
Begonia tubers can also be planted directly outside into borders or containers in May.
When planting in containers, multipurpose compost is the ideal choice of growing medium.
Plant the Begonia 'OnTop® Fandango' tubers shallowly with the dipped side facing upwards—the top of the tuber should be around 1-2cm below the soil surface.
Space the tubers around 15-20cm apart from each other in a container display, or 20-30cm apart in borders.
Water-in thoroughly after planting and water regularly while in full growth. Don't allow them to sit in wet soil while still dormant.
