Description
With its sumptuous and luxurious peony-style blooms, Tulip 'Queensbury' is a bit of a diva! She commands attention, and exudes feisty charm and stunning good looks. Generous double blooms in satin reddish-orange appear to shimmer in the light, with just the hint of a darker more sultry shade of plum brushing the outer petals, and occasionally marking the stems and leaves too. Starting off an attractive cup-shape, the bloom of Tulip 'Queensbury' opens up like a peony, and then finally bursts out in an exuberant explosion of vibrant ruffled petals. This is a tulip with great personality and great presence!
Tulip 'Queensbury' will bloom its socks off in late spring, bring fabulous impact to beds, borders, pots or containers. Its hot colours would look great in a vibrant colour scheme, or could combine beautifully with some of the darker purples, plums and almost-black shades for a more moody feel. Standing at a good height on sturdy stems, make sure you plant a few extra bulbs for cutting and bringing the flowers indoors, as these tulips work well in a vase. Wherever you chose to place Tulip 'Queensbury', it is going to get lots of attention!
