Description
The hardy, herbaceous Peony 'Immaculée' is the perfect addition to Farmer Gracy's range—it produces stunning semi-double white flowers, with very pale-yellow petals in the centres. Curiously, the flower buds first open to reveal pale pink blush petals, before they turn to white. In the centre of each bloom is a loose cluster of bright red stamens. Held on stiff, upright stems, the blooms are bowl-shaped, and spicily scented. They light up late spring and early summer beds, borders or containers.
Paeonia lactiflora 'Immaculée' is an upright and bushy perennial, with attractive, divided leaves of dark green, tinged red in spring. It is easy to grow, and is at its happiest sited in a neutral, free-draining soil in full sun. It is very well suited to indoor arranging, too. This peony, which first appeared in the 1950s, has stood the test of time well, and is regarded by many as being superior to many modern hybrids.

Useful information
-
Soak your Paeonia 'Immaculée' roots in water for 3-6 hours prior to planting.
Plant your bare roots into temporary pots with a multipurpose compost in spring and grow-on in a sheltered spot outdoors.
Choose a pot which comfortably fits the bare roots. Some have a noticeable crown which should be just below the soil surface with any top growth exposed.
Plant out into borders or permanent containers in late spring or early summer once in full growth. Choose a position in sun or shade depending on the variety.
