Description
Allow Hosta 'Bedazzled' to light up the shady areas of your garden with its funky blue-green leaves, irregularly edged with exciting chunky golden margins. Hostas are a classic choice for shade, they love to be in a cool, damp position and will thrive in pots or borders. Over time, the spread out slightly and form a clump, each year producing a bushier network of leaves. Hosta 'Bedazzled's lightly ribbed, gently wavy leaves are also great for adding texture to the space, and the plant treats you to an extra burst of colour in summer when the lilac-mauve, bee-friendly flowers emerge. Fully hardy and resilient, this low-maintenance plant doesn’t require a lot of fuss and will simply come and go each year of its own accord once it’s settled in.
Growing to approximately 30cm, when mature, the foliage on Hosta 'Bedazzled' turns butter-yellow in autumn, before beginning its winter dormancy. Versatile hostas can be planted in borders, and make great potted specimens, and should be planted in a free-draining, moisture retentive soil or compost. Bring out the beauty of Hosta 'Bedazzled' by planting them in drifts, especially alongside a pond or water feature, with other shade loving plants including ferns, epimediums and aquilegia. Once they’ve formed a mature clump, hostas are easily divided in early spring as they start into growth.

Useful information
-
Soak the Hosta 'Bedazzled' roots in water for 3-6 hours prior to planting
Plant your "Plantain lily" bare roots into temporary pots with a multipurpose compost in spring and grow-on in a sheltered spot outdoors
Choose a pot which comfortably fits the bare roots. Some have a noticeable crown which should be just below the soil surface with any top growth exposed. Some varieties are a length of root which should be planted lengthways and shallowly (1-2cm deep).
Plant out into borders or permanent containers in late spring or early summer once in full growth. Choose a position in sun or shade depending on the variety.
