Description
Cover some bare ground with this low-maintenance beauty, Geranium 'Fay Anna'. Spreading out gradually into a dense clump of beautiful foliage, it’s a first-class plant offering not only pretty leaves which form an effective and attractive ground cover, but also an exceptionally long flowering season. The bee-friendly blooms of Geranium 'Fay Anna' bring a bright violet sparkly jolt which will sing out from the border! This tough cranesbill geranium is fully hardy and extremely resilient, the spreading stems will fairly quickly begin to meander through your border, flowering through summer before firing up the end of the season with an inferno of autumn foliage colour.
Geranium wlassovianum 'Fay Anna' is best given a sunny position in well drained rich soil, it also copes well in partial shade. With a low-growing, spreading habit, this geranium should be near the front of your border where it can form a cushion of colour which can be easily seen. 'Fay Anna' is an exceptional geranium to include in your planting scheme and works well combined with ornamental grasses, salvias and alchemilla.

Useful information
-
Soak the Geranium 'Fay Anna' roots in water for 3-6 hours prior to planting
Plant your "Cranesbill" bare roots into temporary pots with a multipurpose compost in spring and grow-on in a sheltered spot outdoors
Choose a pot which comfortably fits the bare roots. Some have a noticeable crown which should be just below the soil surface with any top growth exposed. Some varieties are a length of root which should be planted lengthways and shallowly (1-2cm deep).
Plant out into borders or permanent containers in late spring or early summer once in full growth. Choose a position in sun or shade depending on the variety.
