Description

Crinums are fascinating plants that originate from South Africa. But despite their spectacular foliage and flowers and their rarity value, these plants aren’t difficult to grow. In milder areas, you can grow crinum bulbs as if they were perennials. The crinum bulbs protect themselves during the dormant season by using contractile roots to pull them deeper into the ground. Then, the magnificent flower umbels appear, rising above their neighbours and trumpeting out their presence to the world at large.

Crinum 'Cintho Alfa' are particularly rare and unusual, and even the flower buds are spectacular thanks to the red stripes that will ultimately run down the centre of each white petal. Big, spectacular, unusual, elegant, scented: you’re sure to think of a dozen more adjectives once your crinums are in bloom.
