Description

Tulip 'Mariette' is a lily-flowering tulip, also known as a fluted tulip, and it’s a real beauty: tall and slender, with long-lasting reflexed flowers from late April-May. The blooms are of a deep satin rose pink, fading to a paler pink towards the edges of the petals as they age. And they will add a touch of elegance to your garden. Tulip 'Mariette', which is an old variety that has stood the test of time well, is at its best when planted alongside contrasting colours. It is grown to great effect in garden borders, as well as patio containers. It has a sturdy green stem, which also makes it a fine plant for indoor cut-flower displays!

Choose a soil that is well-drained, in either a sunny or partially shaded location. As this tulip is one of the elegant, taller varieties, it is a good idea to find a sheltered position for it where possible, to avoid wind damage. In our experience, this tulip comes back just as strong, year after year.
