Camassia. It’s not a name one often sees. No poems have been composed about camassias, and if you were to talk about camassias (or quamash) to others, chances are, they won’t know what you’re speaking about. Although it’s a shame that  a striking plant like Camassia hasn’t achieved the fame it deserves, that’s a bonus for those who like to amaze friends and family with something that’s both attractive and unusual. You’ll even surprise yourself. And who knows? Perhaps you’ll be the one to rocket Camassia to fame with an ode composed in its honour.
