We can doubtless thank William Wordsworth for the perennial association between Narcissus plants and poetry, but even the poet would have been surprised if he found himself in a field of rare Poeticus Narcissus. There are few cultivars in this group, and despite being deserving of attention, few people grow them. For those who love something that’s unusual, and even those who just like pretty flowers, the Poeticus Narcissus should not be forgotten. They’re defined by their white petals, and the contrasting colours of the flowers’ small cups. Perhaps they’ll inspire you to write a new poem about daffodils: white ones this time.
