Description
Limonium perezii is the sort of plant that looks like it’s just returned from a seaside holiday—fresh, sun-kissed, and entirely unbothered by the elements. Also known as Perez’s sea lavender, this evergreen perennial from the Canary Islands is a master of resilience, thriving where others might sulk. It forms neat rosettes of leathery green leaves that send up sturdy stems topped with generous clusters of papery, violet-blue flowers, each encased in a delicate white calyx. The blooms last for ages, both in the garden and as cut flowers, earning Limonium perezii a reputation for reliability as well as good looks.
But don’t be fooled by its dainty appearance: Limonium perezii is tough as driftwood. It shrugs off wind, salt, drought and general coastal mischief, making it a perfect choice for seaside gardens, gravel borders, or even city plots that catch more breeze than rain. Flowering generously from late spring through summer, its sea-spray hues bring a breezy, Mediterranean feel wherever it grows. Left to its own devices, Limonium perezii willl quietly perform without fuss, rewarding benign neglect with colour and texture long after most perennials have clocked off for the season. Hardy, handsome, and reliably long-lasting, Limonium perezii is proof that a plant can be both low-maintenance and high-impact—a rare and rather enviable combination.
Limonium perezii is called Perez's sea lavender in honour of Spanish botanist George V. Perez, who first studied the species in Tenerife.

Useful information
-
Soak the Limonium perezii roots in water for 3-6 hours prior to planting
Plant your "Perez's sea lavender" bare roots into temporary pots with a multipurpose compost within a week of delivery and grow-on in a sheltered spot outdoors
Choose a pot which comfortably fits the bare roots. Some have a noticeable crown which should be just below the soil surface with any top growth exposed. Some varieties are a length of root which should be planted lengthways and shallowly (1-2cm deep).
Plant out into borders or permanent containers in late spring or early summer once in full growth. Choose a position in sun or shade depending on the variety.
