Description
Hydrangea 'Groundbreaker Greeny' is a genuinely fresh way to think about panicle hydrangeas, with a compact, low habit that spreads more readily than it climbs. Reaching around 40-60cm high and about 80cm wide, it is richly branched and beautifully suited to pots, small gardens, edging, mass planting and even the patio table, should you enjoy a floral centrepiece with roots. From July to November, Hydrangea 'Groundbreaker Greeny' is covered in green flowers, forming together in such abundance that they create a soft, leafy blanket of bloom. Neat, modern and wonderfully generous, Hydrangea 'Groundbreaker Greeny' opens up new possibilities for hydrangea planting.
Plant Hydrangea 'Groundbreaker Greeny' in well-drained soil in full sun, giving it space to form its naturally broad, low shape. It flowers for around 100 days, bringing a calm, contemporary freshness to borders, containers and ground-cover schemes, particularly where white, silver, purple or deep green companions can sharpen the effect. Prune Hydrangea 'Groundbreaker Greeny' between November and April to encourage another lavish summer display. Hardy to around -30°C, Hydrangea paniculata 'Groundbreaker Greeny' is compact, resilient and quietly revolutionary, a panicle hydrangea that has clearly decided height is not everything.

Useful information
-
Soak the Hydrangea 'Groundbreaker Greeny' roots in water for 3-6 hours prior to planting
Plant your bare roots into temporary pots with a multipurpose compost within a week of delivery and grow-on in a sheltered spot outdoors
Choose a pot which comfortably fits the bare roots. Some have a noticeable crown which should be just below the soil surface with any top growth exposed. Some varieties are a length of root which should be planted lengthways and shallowly (1-2cm deep).
Plant out into borders or permanent containers in late spring or early summer once in full growth. Choose a position in sun or shade depending on the variety.
