Description

Each flower is formed of petals in paradise shades of creamy yellow, the speckled markings and darker yellow centre bring an extra level of detail to admire. The short stems of this Peruvian lily make this a sturdy and compact character which is perfectly placed in patio pots or towards the front of borders where it’ll flower continuously throughout summer and into autumn.
The Colorita® series of Alstroemeria are known for being densely branched and compact, so these pretty perennials should not need any staking and their neat form lends itself well to use in containers. Despite its classy looks, Alstroemeria Colorita® 'Fabiana' is unfussy to grow, being fairly winter hardy and resilient in summer heat and low maintenance. The short stems of Alstroemeria 'Fabiana' are self supporting, which makes for a low maintenance summer display. As this is a clump-forming perennial, you can expect the plant to establish over time as the clump gradually spreads. Every year, look forward to the clump producing more of those gorgeous tropical-looking blooms!

Soak the Alstroemeria 'Fabiana' roots in water for 3-6 hours prior to planting
Plant your "Dwarf Peruvian lily" bare roots into temporary pots with a multipurpose compost in spring and grow-on in a sheltered spot outdoors
Choose a pot which comfortably fits the bare roots. Some have a noticeable crown which should be just below the soil surface with any top growth exposed. Some varieties are a length of root which should be planted lengthways and shallowly (1-2cm deep).
Plant out into borders or permanent containers in late spring or early summer once in full growth. Choose a position in sun or shade depending on the variety.
