Description
Jewel-like Tulip 'Rosy Diamond' seems to sparkle in the spring garden with its magenta-pink petals, lit up by whiter edges, as if dabbed in sunshine. This peony-flowered double tulip creates a scintillating display, and shines with luminosity whatever the weather. Over time, the vibrant pink blooms of Tulip 'Rosy Diamond' become blushed with lilac, creating a breathtakingly magical colour combination. More drama is created by the darkening of the stems towards the bloom, adding to the mystique of this fabulous late-spring gem.
As part of the peony-group of tulips, known for their generous double blooms that resemble peonies, Tulip 'Rosy Diamond' is impactful yet, unlike real peonies, has a very long flowering period. Seeing its colours transform over time adds an element of surprise and mystery to the garden. Standing at around 45cm high, Tulip 'Rosy Diamond' also works very well in pots. Her delightful colours would create a stunning match with blues, pinks or violets, for example with Dicentra or Muscari mixed with other vibrant late-flowering tulips.
