Muscari is a wonderfully low-maintenance plant, deserving of a place in every garden. It will naturalise readily and provide many weeks of colour, while demanding little in the way of care. We love letting it loose in rockeries, borders, or underneath shrubs, and sitting back as it gradually forms a glorious carpet of spring colour. If vigorous spreading is not your thing (perhaps you garden in a smaller space), try growing muscari in a container instead. Plant 8-10cm deep and leave a couple of centimetres space between each bulb. Cut stems back after flowering to prevent seeds developing.
