Stachys officinalis 'Summer Snowcone', like most betony plants, is an unfussy character and will thrive in most conditions. It’s fully hardy though winter, and also fairly drought tolerant through summer once it’s settled. It’s very simple to care for—all it requires every year is to be cut back to ground level in autumn, then it will grow back again the following year. Of course, it will need some initial care when it’s first planted. Stachys 'Summer Snowcone' looks just perfect in sunny borders, combining well with plants of any colour.

Soak your Stachys 'Summer Snowcone' roots in water for 3-6 hours prior to planting.
Plant your "Betony" bare roots into temporary pots with a multipurpose compost in spring and grow-on in a sheltered spot outdoors.
Choose a pot which comfortably fits the bare roots. Some have a noticeable crown which should be just below the soil surface with any top growth exposed.
Plant out into borders or permanent containers in late spring or early summer once in full growth. Choose a position in sun or shade depending on the variety.
