Description

The fiery-red blooms of this spectacular ranunculus will welcome summer into your garden with a pop and a bang! Their striking and distinctive rounded flowers appear to glow like hot embers when they catch the sun, putting on a bright and exciting display from late spring onwards. The blooms are formed of a tightly-packed rosette of petals which slowly unravel, layer by layer, from neat ball-like buds - the anticipation of the flowers opening extends the season of interest and make a lovely feature in their own right!

Ranunculus are well-known for their excellent vase life and luxurious beauty, so they make a superb addition to cut-flower bouquets. These vivid red blooms will really shine when combined with blue, purple or white flowers, whether it’s in the garden or bunched together in a late-spring posy.

Planting Ranunculus

Ranunculus are half hardy—for best results, it's a good idea to start them off in pots and then transplant out into their final positions from mid spring. They're particularly well suited to growing in patio containers, but also do very well at the front of a mixed flower border!
