Description

With its delightful wavy, blue-green leaves, each with a broad creamy yellow margin, Hosta 'Mini Skirt' is an enchanting, new addition to the range. It is a small, deciduous perennial, forming a mini mound around 15cm in height, and with a spread of around 30-35cm. If you are a fan of miniature plants, Hosta 'Mini Skirt' is definitely one to have. Also, lavender purple flowers appear above the stems during the summer. Although Hosta 'Mini Skirt' may be grown in a bed or border, it is far better to grow this miniature hosta in a container, where you can see it at close quarters. Choose a shady spot, or which receives sun just during the morning.

There is growing interest in the beautiful miniature hostas, such as with the 'Mouse Ear' series. And we are delighted to offer several of them. These hostas are stunning—but they take up such little room, collectors never run out of options.     • Soak your Hosta 'Mini Skirt' roots in water for 3-6 hours prior to planting.

    • Plant your "Miniature hosta" bare roots into temporary pots with a multipurpose compost in spring and grow-on in a sheltered spot outdoors.

    • Choose a pot which comfortably fits the bare roots. Some have a noticeable crown which should be just below the soil surface with any top growth exposed.

    • Plant out into borders or permanent containers in late spring or early summer once in full growth. Choose a position in sun or shade depending on the variety.
