Here’s your opportunity to grow an unusual and undeniably beautiful Japanese cultivar—this scare shade-loving starlet has an exotic appearance with elegant lance-like leaves marked in two-tone with sleek streaks. Plant Hosta 'Hyuga Urajiro' in groups among your hosta collection or a slinky swathe through your shade-garden to lift the vibe with zesty, fresh tones. 

Growing to around 30cm tall and with a spread of up to 60cm, Hosta 'Hyuga Urajiro'’ is fairly ground-hugging which is perfect for filling a gap towards the front of a border or for planting in a patio container. This majestic mound of foliage is complemented during summer with lavender blooms which not only look great but also attract pollinators. Try planting this with other shade-tolerant plants like Astilbe, Aquilegia or Begonia.  

The Japanese word for Hosta is giboshi. Western cultivars are often called hosuta to distinguish from Japanese varieties.
