Description
Heat up late summer with a floral fiesta as hot as the Spanish sun! Helenium collection 'Paella' is a feast for the eyes—welcome it into your borders and you'll be treated to a comforting fiery fusion of dusky red and yellow to top off summer, extending the season with a good blast of warmth. Disc-shaped flowers are padded out with a ring of tightly-packed petals which surround a cute button centre that bees and butterflies find irresistible. Flowering in colours of smoked paprika red and zesty lemon, the only colour missing here is prawn-pink!
Helenium collection 'Paella' is perfect for a sunny border and combines brilliantly with other late-season perennials, like Sedum, Echinacea, and Rudbeckia. You can also combine this hardy perennial with ornamental grasses like Stipa gigantea or Pennisetum and create a gorgeous hazy prairie effect. Sneezeweed grows back every year and, over time, establishes itself into a generous clump which produces masses up upright flowering stems. Helenium is resilient and unfussy, coping well with poor soils, heat and drought.

Useful information
-
Soak the Helenium collection 'Paella' roots in water for 3-6 hours prior to planting
Plant your "Sneezeweed" bare roots into temporary pots with a multipurpose compost in spring and grow-on in a sheltered spot outdoors
Choose a pot which comfortably fits the bare roots. Some have a noticeable crown which should be just below the soil surface with any top growth exposed. Some varieties are a length of root which should be planted lengthways and shallowly (1-2cm deep).
Plant out into borders or permanent containers in late spring or early summer once in full growth. Choose a position in sun or shade depending on the variety.
