Description
Get ready for a cosmic burst of blooms, courtesy of Gladiolus 'Galaxian'! The pink and white star-like flowers are far more dainty than the big, ruffly gladioli and this is what gives this variety heaps of celestial charm. This sword lily is petite in size, which makes it useful for the smaller spaces; a more frontal position in the border or patio containers. A shorter height, coupled with a pretty constellation of lightweight blooms, makes Gladiolus 'Galaxian' a sturdy plant which remains satisfyingly upright and astronomically beautiful!
Growing to a height of up to 50cm, Gladiolus 'Galaxian' is shorter than typical gladioli but it makes just as much of an impact. To get the best effect, we recommend planting them in fairly dense groups in a border or large patio container. Watch it rocket into action in midsummer when it reveals those deep cerise pink and sparkling white blooms. The narrow-petalled flowers and thin stalks give Gladiolus colvillei 'Galaxian' a more natural, breezy appearance which works well with ornamental grasses in a prairie planting scheme, it’s just as comfortable in a cottage garden border.
