Description
Invite this carnival queen to the plant party to liven up your planting scheme with fun, flashy flowers! Alstroemeria 'Paola' is dressed to impress with those daring pink and yellow petals. A golden radiance illuminates the centre of each bloom, overlaid with inky dashes of dark magenta that give each flower a hand-painted appearance. Alstroemeria 'Paola' keeps the spirit alive with a continuous display from late June to October, delivering a summer-long festival of colour. At just 20-30cm tall, this dwarf Peruvian lily can frolic through the front of sunny borders and works just as well in patio pots. Being compact in size, this plant naturally stays sturdy even in more exposed areas.
The exotic blooms of Alstroemeria Colorita® 'Paola' make glamorous cut flowers with a particularly good vase-life. The stems are short in length but they make a cute little bunch which makes a surprisingly big impact. This fuss-free perennial forms a neat clump over time, each year returning slightly larger. Dwarf Peruvian lilies like Alstroemeria 'Paola' are very easy to care for, requiring virtually no maintenance except a quick trim of the old stems in autumn. Although not the hardiest of its kind, this perennial will happily tolerate temperatures to -5°C, thriving in a sheltered, sunny position with well-drained soil.

Useful information
-
Soak your Alstroemeria 'Paola' roots in water for 3-6 hours prior to planting.
Plant your "Dwarf Peruvian lily" bare roots into temporary pots with a multipurpose compost in spring and grow-on in a sheltered spot outdoors.
Choose a pot which comfortably fits the bare roots. Some have a noticeable crown which should be just below the soil surface with any top growth exposed.
Plant out into borders or permanent containers in late spring or early summer once in full growth. Choose a position in sun or shade depending on the variety.
