Plant tulip bulbs from October to mid-December, once the weather has cooled. Until then, store them somewhere cool, dry and safely away from mice and squirrels.

Tulips are all about colour. If you think about them, the image arises of sweeping fields of strong colour as far as the eye can see. Most of us can’t accommodate entire landscapes of tulips, but we can have smaller displays in our spring gardens. A mixed colour selection of triumph tulips gives you the chance to paint a smaller landscape in living colour without going through long lists of the many individual varieties available, to prepare your palette. A cross between early and late flowering tulips, triumph tulips are generally strong-stemmed and able to resist wind and rain to a large extent. Triumph tulips make good cut flowers and are suitable in containers.
We always use the best quality bulbs for this collection which means that the varieties we choose to create this look may differ from year to year. The varieties used in this collection may not be the same as the varieties pictured, and there will be a slight variation in colours.

Choose full sun or partial shade. Improve heavy soil with organic matter and horticultural grit. For containers, use peat-free multipurpose compost with good drainage.
Plant bulbs pointed side upwards, 15–20cm deep and around 10cm apart. You can leave a little more space between them in borders.
Water once after planting to settle the soil. Border-grown tulips rarely need further watering, but containers should be kept lightly moist and never waterlogged.
Remove faded flowers, then allow the foliage to yellow and die back naturally. This helps the bulbs store energy for the following year.
