Plant tulip bulbs from October to mid-December, once the weather has cooled. Until then, store them somewhere cool, dry and safely away from mice and squirrels.

'Whipped Cream'
Tulip 'Whipped Cream' is a delightful variety that brings a touch of elegance and decadence to your garden. With its full, peony-like flowers, this white tulip stands out for its luxurious, rounded petals that almost look as though they've been whipped into shape. The soft, creamy-white blooms add a sophisticated charm to any spring display, making them a perfect choice for those seeking something refined yet striking. Tulip 'Whipped Cream' offers a dense, fluffy head of petals that creates a full, rounded flower, almost as if the petals themselves have been delicately sculpted.
Standing at around 45–50 cm, Tulip 'Whipped Cream' brings a graceful vertical element to borders and containers. Its elegant form and gentle colour complement a wide range of other spring flowers, while the soft white hue provides a calm contrast to bolder, brighter blooms. Perfect for adding a touch of elegance, Tulip 'Whipped Cream' will reward you with a lavish display season after season, without ever going out of style.

Choose full sun or partial shade. Improve heavy soil with organic matter and horticultural grit. For containers, use peat-free multipurpose compost with good drainage.
Plant bulbs pointed side upwards, 15–20cm deep and around 10cm apart. You can leave a little more space between them in borders.
Water once after planting to settle the soil. Border-grown tulips rarely need further watering, but containers should be kept lightly moist and never waterlogged.
Remove faded flowers, then allow the foliage to yellow and die back naturally. This helps the bulbs store energy for the following year.
