Plant tulip bulbs from October to mid-December, once the weather has cooled. Until then, store them somewhere cool, dry and safely away from mice and squirrels.
'Verona Sunrise'
Tulip 'Verona Sunrise' brings a softly romantic glow to the mid-spring garden, its double, bowl-shaped blooms unfolding in layers of rose pink, peach and a gentle hint of yellow at the heart. The flowers of Tulip 'Verona Sunrise' are not only beautifully full but also lightly fragrant, adding another layer of appeal when planted near pathways or seating areas. Rising to around 40cm on tall, strong stems, Tulip 'Verona Sunrise' stands confidently above its broad, lance-shaped green foliage, offering both structure and softness in equal measure. Its colouring feels both fresh and nostalgic, reminiscent of early morning light warming the garden.
Perfectly suited to container planting, Tulip 'Verona Sunrise' thrives in pots where its intricate blooms can be admired up close. Tulip 'Verona Sunrise' also integrates effortlessly into borders, pairing especially well with creamy whites, soft mauves or deeper pinks for a harmonious display. As a cut flower, Tulip 'Verona Sunrise' brings its delicate fragrance and layered beauty indoors, where it continues to open gracefully over time. Reliable and enduring, Tulip 'Verona Sunrise' has the added advantage of perennial tendencies in favourable conditions, returning to brighten the garden year after year with its warm, painterly charm.

Choose full sun or partial shade. Improve heavy soil with organic matter and horticultural grit. For containers, use peat-free multipurpose compost with good drainage.
Plant bulbs pointed side upwards, 15–20cm deep and around 10cm apart. You can leave a little more space between them in borders.
Water once after planting to settle the soil. Border-grown tulips rarely need further watering, but containers should be kept lightly moist and never waterlogged.
Remove faded flowers, then allow the foliage to yellow and die back naturally. This helps the bulbs store energy for the following year.
