Plant tulip bulbs from October to mid-December, once the weather has cooled. Until then, store them somewhere cool, dry and safely away from mice and squirrels.
'Strawberry Cream'
Grow a tulip that’s truly extraordinary! Plant Tulip 'Strawberry Cream' bulbs in autumn and come spring, enjoy every mind-boggling moment as those fresh-green buds are prised apart by the expanding mass of milkshake-pink petals within, bursting forth like a fizzed-up overspill. You won’t believe just how many petals can be packed into one bloom! If you’re into subtle, graceful beauty, look the other way. Tulip 'Strawberry Cream' is mega-fancy, bold, born to shine, attention-grabbing, fun and fascinating.
There’s no doubt that anyone who claps eyes on Tulip 'Strawberry Cream' will be wonderstruck. One of the best things about a tulip with so many petals is how long they seem to last. As they gradually unfurl, they create a point of interest which changes in appearance and looks great from start to finish. First, it looks like a simple green tulip. Next, there’s intriguing hint of pink peeking out, then it looks like a bowl of strawberry ice cream, and by the time Tulip 'Strawberry Cream' is close to being done it’s completely outgrown its little green cup and fully splayed out like a peony!

Choose full sun or partial shade. Improve heavy soil with organic matter and horticultural grit. For containers, use peat-free multipurpose compost with good drainage.
Plant bulbs pointed side upwards, 15–20cm deep and around 10cm apart. You can leave a little more space between them in borders.
Water once after planting to settle the soil. Border-grown tulips rarely need further watering, but containers should be kept lightly moist and never waterlogged.
Remove faded flowers, then allow the foliage to yellow and die back naturally. This helps the bulbs store energy for the following year.
