Tulip 'Serano'

Set yourself up for an early tulip treat with this eager wonder, Tulip 'Serano'. This new Tulipa greigii cultivar is keen to rise and shine as soon as spring kicks in, typically flowering from around late March. It’s one great thing to be able to get the tulip season off to an early and brilliantly beautiful start, but there are many more notable features of this tremendous tulip.  A compact habit with short stems makes Tulip 'Serano' a useful choice for small pots and gaps, or a sturdier option for growing in exposed gardens. Producing multiple creamy white and peachy pink flowers per stem, the stocky Tulip 'Serano' can create a big show. Tulip 'Serano' flowers tend open and close on a daily basis, depending on the weather. In the morning and evening and on grey days, they remain closed, showing off the beautiful peach-pink flames on the outsides of the petals. When the sun shines on them, they open wide into a star-like shape, revealing an eye-catching black centre surrounded by silky cream petals, and when they do this it looks like a different display altogether!
