Plant tulip bulbs from October to mid-December, once the weather has cooled. Until then, store them somewhere cool, dry and safely away from mice and squirrels.
'Salmon Dessert'
Tulip 'Salmon Dessert' is, quite simply, a feast for the eyes, offering one of the most delectable shades of salmon-pink you could wish to find in a spring garden. Its generous, goblet-shaped blooms have a soft, almost luminous quality, gently blending warm salmon pink tones with a subtle golden glow at the base. As Tulip 'Salmon Dessert' begins to open, the colour deepens and shifts with the light, lending an ever-changing charm to borders and containers alike. Flowering in mid to late spring, Tulip 'Salmon Dessert' pairs beautifully with other pastel shades, though it has more than enough presence to carry a planting on its own.
As the flowers fully unfurl, Tulip 'Salmon Dessert' reveals its most captivating detail, a striking split indigo centre set against a luminous yellow base, creating a vivid contrast that feels both unexpected and wonderfully theatrical. Reaching an elegant height, Tulip 'Salmon Dessert' stands proudly on sturdy stems, making it ideal for borders, pots and cutting gardens where its intricate colouring can be admired up close. Indoors, a vase of Tulip 'Salmon Dessert' brings a fresh yet indulgent note to any space. With its combination of soft outer tones and a bold inner display, Tulip 'Salmon Dessert' manages to be both sweetly romantic and just a little bit showy.

Choose full sun or partial shade. Improve heavy soil with organic matter and horticultural grit. For containers, use peat-free multipurpose compost with good drainage.
Plant bulbs pointed side upwards, 15–20cm deep and around 10cm apart. You can leave a little more space between them in borders.
Water once after planting to settle the soil. Border-grown tulips rarely need further watering, but containers should be kept lightly moist and never waterlogged.
Remove faded flowers, then allow the foliage to yellow and die back naturally. This helps the bulbs store energy for the following year.
