Plant tulip bulbs from October to mid-December, once the weather has cooled. Until then, store them somewhere cool, dry and safely away from mice and squirrels.
You want your garden to stand out from the rest. If this describes you, then you want both vibrant colour and exquisite flower forms. And since you want to turn other gardeners green with envy, some really unusual plants are the cherry on the top. Be among the lucky few to get their hands on the exquisite Tulip 'Red Dress', and take a look at the other crown tulips we have to offer while you’re about it.
Apart from its unusual flower form, Tulip 'Red Dress' will bloom for longer than most Tulips. It starts flowering in mid-spring and keeps its flowers until late in the season. Your 'Red Dress' tulips will last well in the vase, allowing you to enjoy your flowers both indoors and out. But crown tulips are a rarity, so we will have a limited supply of bulbs. Place your order now to avoid disappointment.

Choose full sun or partial shade. Improve heavy soil with organic matter and horticultural grit. For containers, use peat-free multipurpose compost with good drainage.
Plant bulbs pointed side upwards, 15–20cm deep and around 10cm apart. You can leave a little more space between them in borders.
Water once after planting to settle the soil. Border-grown tulips rarely need further watering, but containers should be kept lightly moist and never waterlogged.
Remove faded flowers, then allow the foliage to yellow and die back naturally. This helps the bulbs store energy for the following year.
