Plant tulip bulbs from October to mid-December, once the weather has cooled. Until then, store them somewhere cool, dry and safely away from mice and squirrels.
'Peppermint'
Tulip 'Peppermint' is a fringed tulip with the crisp, cool elegance of freshly laundered linen, only considerably more exciting in a spring border. Its large, goblet-shaped blooms open in luminous white, each petal trimmed with finely cut, feathery edges that give the flowers a frosted, almost crystalline finish. Despite the name, Tulip 'Peppermint' keeps its palette wonderfully pure, with just the faintest creamy hints at the heart as the blooms mature. Planted in groups, Tulip 'Peppermint' creates a clean, sparkling display that feels both refined and quietly dramatic.
Grow Tulip 'Peppermint' in fertile, well-drained soil in a sunny position, planting the bulbs in autumn for an elegant late spring show. Its white flowers are beautifully versatile, pairing with blue forget-me-nots, purple alliums, fresh green euphorbias and soft pink tulips for a scheme with depth and polish. The fringed petals add lovely texture in containers, borders and cut flower arrangements, catching the light in a way that makes each bloom look delicately sculpted. Graceful, fresh and just a little theatrical at the edges, Tulip 'Peppermint' is perfect for gardeners who like their spring displays bright, poised and impeccably dressed.

Choose full sun or partial shade. Improve heavy soil with organic matter and horticultural grit. For containers, use peat-free multipurpose compost with good drainage.
Plant bulbs pointed side upwards, 15–20cm deep and around 10cm apart. You can leave a little more space between them in borders.
Water once after planting to settle the soil. Border-grown tulips rarely need further watering, but containers should be kept lightly moist and never waterlogged.
Remove faded flowers, then allow the foliage to yellow and die back naturally. This helps the bulbs store energy for the following year.
