Plant tulip bulbs from October to mid-December, once the weather has cooled. Until then, store them somewhere cool, dry and safely away from mice and squirrels.
The icy white of the double Tulip 'Mount Tacoma' lets its peony-like blooms shine clearly in your spring garden—sometimes even after the sun has gone down. Yet there’s nothing cold about these snowy flowers. The double layers of pure white petals open into a wide fluffy flower with a warm heart of gold. It also appeals to two of your senses—not only is it a pleasure for the eye but it will also add fragrance to the spring air. Tulip 'Mount Tacoma' adds a special charm to borders or edging displays, or gives a touch of softness in a container.
Tulip 'Mount Tacoma' is a perennial powerhouse! Its broadly lance-shaped green leaves add a touch of class and its double, peony-like flowers are a sight to behold. White with a few hints of pale yellow-green, this queen of the spring stands at a commanding 45cm high.

Choose full sun or partial shade. Improve heavy soil with organic matter and horticultural grit. For containers, use peat-free multipurpose compost with good drainage.
Plant bulbs pointed side upwards, 15–20cm deep and around 10cm apart. You can leave a little more space between them in borders.
Water once after planting to settle the soil. Border-grown tulips rarely need further watering, but containers should be kept lightly moist and never waterlogged.
Remove faded flowers, then allow the foliage to yellow and die back naturally. This helps the bulbs store energy for the following year.
