Plant tulip bulbs from October to mid-December, once the weather has cooled. Until then, store them somewhere cool, dry and safely away from mice and squirrels.
'Mon Amour'
Tulip 'Mon Amour' is spring sunshine in floral form—bright, cheerful, and with just enough frill to keep things interesting. This fully double variety produces generous, golden-yellow blooms with densely layered petals and finely fringed edges, giving each flower a frothy, almost feathered finish. It’s got all the charm of a classic yellow tulip but with added texture and volume, making Tulip 'Mon Amour' an eye-catching feature in any spring display. Whether you're planting it in borders, pots, or cutting beds, it brings a glow that’s hard to miss.
A reliable mid- to late-season bloomer, Tulip 'Mon Amour' thrives in full sun and well-drained soil, holding its own in typical British spring weather thanks to strong, upright stems. Tulip 'Mon Amour' looks particularly effective when planted en masse or mixed with soft whites, warm oranges, or contrasting purples for a more dynamic palette. Its long-lasting blooms also make excellent cut flowers—ideal for brightening up the house as well as the garden. Whether you're new to tulips or already smitten with the double and fringed types, Tulip 'Mon Amour' is a ray of floral optimism. Full of character and easy to grow, Tulip 'Mon Amour' is bound to win a place in your heart—and your planting plans.

Choose full sun or partial shade. Improve heavy soil with organic matter and horticultural grit. For containers, use peat-free multipurpose compost with good drainage.
Plant bulbs pointed side upwards, 15–20cm deep and around 10cm apart. You can leave a little more space between them in borders.
Water once after planting to settle the soil. Border-grown tulips rarely need further watering, but containers should be kept lightly moist and never waterlogged.
Remove faded flowers, then allow the foliage to yellow and die back naturally. This helps the bulbs store energy for the following year.
