Plant tulip bulbs from October to mid-December, once the weather has cooled. Until then, store them somewhere cool, dry and safely away from mice and squirrels.
'Mango Charm'
Tulip 'Mango Charm' is a Triumph tulip with a painterly way of keeping spring borders interesting. In early to mid spring, Tulip 'Mango Charm' opens in soft apricot shades brushed with pale yellow at the edges, creating neat, egg-shaped blooms with a fresh, luminous quality. As the flowers mature, the colouring shifts beautifully to peachy pink, while the margin fades to a creamy, almost white outline. That quiet transformation gives Tulip 'Mango Charm' a wonderfully animated presence in the garden, as though each flower is catching the light a little differently from the last. Reaching around 45cm, it stands with the poise and reliability typical of the Triumph tulip group, bringing structure as well as charm.
Elegant but never fussy, Tulip 'Mango Charm' works brilliantly in borders, where its warm, changeable tones mingle easily with muscari, forget-me-nots and other spring companions. It also performs beautifully in pots, where the subtle colour progression can be admired up close, and the sturdy stems make Tulip 'Mango Charm' an excellent choice for cutting too. A few stems in a vase seem to change character by the day, which rather adds to their appeal. Flowering in April, Tulip 'Mango Charm' brings a refined kind of drama—never shouty, always stylish. For gardeners who like their tulips with both grace and personality, Tulipa 'Mango Charm' more than earns its place.

Choose full sun or partial shade. Improve heavy soil with organic matter and horticultural grit. For containers, use peat-free multipurpose compost with good drainage.
Plant bulbs pointed side upwards, 15–20cm deep and around 10cm apart. You can leave a little more space between them in borders.
Water once after planting to settle the soil. Border-grown tulips rarely need further watering, but containers should be kept lightly moist and never waterlogged.
Remove faded flowers, then allow the foliage to yellow and die back naturally. This helps the bulbs store energy for the following year.
