Plant tulip bulbs from October to mid-December, once the weather has cooled. Until then, store them somewhere cool, dry and safely away from mice and squirrels.
'Limousine'
Tulip 'Limousine' arrives early in the season with a flourish that feels both cheerful and quietly sophisticated, its fully double blooms unfurling in generous layers of luminous citron yellow. Each flower of Tulip 'Limousine' is richly ruffled, the softly serrated petals catching the light and giving a plush, almost peony-like effect. As the blooms mature, Tulip 'Limousine' reveals an impressive fullness, reaching up to 12cm across and bringing a sense of abundance to spring planting. Despite its opulent appearance, the stems remain pleasingly sturdy at around 40cm, allowing Tulip 'Limousine' to hold its shape well through changeable spring weather.
Perfect for brightening borders, containers or thoughtfully arranged spring displays, Tulip 'Limousine' blends beautifully with whites, soft pastels or even contrasting deeper tones for a more theatrical look. Its early flowering habit ensures Tulip 'Limousine' takes centre stage in April and May, when the garden is just beginning to gather momentum. Tulip 'Limousine' also lends itself wonderfully to cutting, where its full, ruffled form adds texture and substance to indoor arrangements. Reliable, uplifting and just a touch indulgent, Tulip 'Limousine' is a variety that brings both structure and a welcome burst of sunshine to the start of the season.

Choose full sun or partial shade. Improve heavy soil with organic matter and horticultural grit. For containers, use peat-free multipurpose compost with good drainage.
Plant bulbs pointed side upwards, 15–20cm deep and around 10cm apart. You can leave a little more space between them in borders.
Water once after planting to settle the soil. Border-grown tulips rarely need further watering, but containers should be kept lightly moist and never waterlogged.
Remove faded flowers, then allow the foliage to yellow and die back naturally. This helps the bulbs store energy for the following year.
