Description
Understated elegance personifies Tulip 'Kyoko Takahashi'. A beautifully classic-shaped tulip flower that emerges in a pure snowy-white and gradually develops a rosy-pink blush from the edges of its petals. Without trying too hard, this tulip achieves a graceful and romantic look. That comes from good breeding too, thanks to its triumph tulip heritage: renowned for strength, durability and that classic cup shape.
If you are looking for a tulip with a soft colour palette that chimes harmoniously with spring blossom and pastel shades, then this fits the bill perfectly. Tulip 'Kyoko Takahashi' flowers in mid to late spring, and would mix beautifully with other pinks, as well as gentle blues and brilliant whites. A grouping of these tulips combined with Brunnera and white late-flowering narcissus underneath a crab-apple or other spring-flowering tree would look impossibly romantic. As with all tulips, Tulip 'Kyoko Takahashi' will perform best in a free-draining and relatively sunny site. It is equally happy in pots, being a reasonable height, and would make an elegant cut flower for a vase.
