Plant tulip bulbs from October to mid-December, once the weather has cooled. Until then, store them somewhere cool, dry and safely away from mice and squirrels.
'Jade Maiden'
Tulip 'Jade Maiden' has an understated elegance that quietly draws the eye, proving that subtlety can be every bit as captivating as bold colour. Its beautifully shaped blooms open in soft creamy white, delicately washed with a gentle peach yellow glow on the outer petals. As the flowers mature, a faint blush of pink may appear, adding another layer of charm to an already refined display. Flowering from April into early May, Tulip 'Jade Maiden' brings a calm, fresh character to spring planting, blending effortlessly with both pastel palettes and more vibrant companions. Strong stems keep the blooms upright even in breezier spots, making this variety equally at home in borders and patio containers.
With its natural colouring and graceful form, Tulip 'Jade Maiden' lends itself beautifully to relaxed, contemporary planting schemes as well as classic spring displays. It pairs effortlessly with muscari, narcissus and other tulips, softening brighter shades while adding depth to more restrained combinations. Planted in generous groups, Tulip 'Jade Maiden' creates a gentle drift of luminous flowers that feels both sophisticated and wonderfully unforced. The blooms also make elegant cut flowers, bringing their fresh, understated beauty indoors. Easy to combine and delightfully versatile, Tulip 'Jade Maiden' is one of those tulips that rewards a closer look, offering subtle shifts in colour and a timeless elegance that never feels overdone.

Choose full sun or partial shade. Improve heavy soil with organic matter and horticultural grit. For containers, use peat-free multipurpose compost with good drainage.
Plant bulbs pointed side upwards, 15–20cm deep and around 10cm apart. You can leave a little more space between them in borders.
Water once after planting to settle the soil. Border-grown tulips rarely need further watering, but containers should be kept lightly moist and never waterlogged.
Remove faded flowers, then allow the foliage to yellow and die back naturally. This helps the bulbs store energy for the following year.
