Plant tulip bulbs from October to mid-December, once the weather has cooled. Until then, store them somewhere cool, dry and safely away from mice and squirrels.
'Jacuzzi'
Tulip 'Jacuzzi' brings a cool, gently luminous beauty to the spring garden, as though someone has stirred lilac paint into moonlight. Its cup-shaped flowers open in soft pale purple, with silvery white touches brushed across the outer petals, giving each bloom a refined, almost pearlescent finish. Reaching up to around 50cm in flower, Tulip 'Jacuzzi' has just the right height for weaving through borders, lifting patio pots, or adding a quietly glamorous note to a cut flower arrangement. The broadly lance-shaped grey-green leaves provide an elegant foil, keeping the overall effect fresh, poised and never too sweet.
Plant Tulip 'Jacuzzi' where its subtle colouring can be properly admired, perhaps among creamy narcissi, dusky violas, silver foliage or deep plum tulips for a little garden theatre. It is a perennial bulb with a graceful habit, returning best in well-drained soil and a sunny spot, where the bulbs can rest undisturbed after flowering. In containers, Tulip 'Jacuzzi' looks beautifully composed, particularly in stone, terracotta or zinc, where its cool tones feel effortlessly chic. For gardeners who favour elegance over extravagance, Tulip 'Jacuzzi' is a splendid choice, sophisticated, serene and just a little bit indulgent.

Choose full sun or partial shade. Improve heavy soil with organic matter and horticultural grit. For containers, use peat-free multipurpose compost with good drainage.
Plant bulbs pointed side upwards, 15–20cm deep and around 10cm apart. You can leave a little more space between them in borders.
Water once after planting to settle the soil. Border-grown tulips rarely need further watering, but containers should be kept lightly moist and never waterlogged.
Remove faded flowers, then allow the foliage to yellow and die back naturally. This helps the bulbs store energy for the following year.
