Pointed petals of intense pink are adorned with bright splash of golden-yellow at the centre, singing out against the grey-green foliage. Interestingly, the outer petals are backed with a paler colour, meaning the buds will give a pleasing candy-striped effect, before they burst open to reveal the treasures within!
Tulip humilis 'Persian Pearl' is an exceptionally good naturaliser, meaning these delicately-sized blooms will soon spread to create a shimmering oasis of springtime colour. Happily growing in either sun or part shade, it won’t be hard to find a suitable spot for these low-growing beauties in the garden.

Choose full sun or partial shade. Improve heavy soil with organic matter and horticultural grit. For containers, use peat-free multipurpose compost with good drainage.
Plant bulbs pointed side upwards, 15–20cm deep and around 10cm apart. You can leave a little more space between them in borders.
Water once after planting to settle the soil. Border-grown tulips rarely need further watering, but containers should be kept lightly moist and never waterlogged.
Remove faded flowers, then allow the foliage to yellow and die back naturally. This helps the bulbs store energy for the following year.
