Plant tulip bulbs from October to mid-December, once the weather has cooled. Until then, store them somewhere cool, dry and safely away from mice and squirrels.
'Foxy Foxtrot'
If you crave colour and the warmth of the sun after a long winter, then Tulip 'Foxy Foxtrot' will delight you with its shimmering display, as it unfolds with the developing intensity of a spectacular sunset. Golden yellow, tangerine orange, apricot and touches of salmon pink merge harmoniously in its voluptuous double petals, bringing you a burst of optimistic colour in early to mid-spring. Double early Tulip 'Foxy Foxtrot' packs its ruffled petals into a bloom that resembles a peony or a rose as it unfurls, bringing a real wow factor to pots, borders and, if you can bear to cut them, to an indoor display in a vase.
Thanks to its long flowering period,Tulip 'Foxy Foxtrot' will give you many weeks of colour. It can be used to great effect massed with other early spring tulips in shades of yellow, orange or warm pink. This beautiful tulip will look equally impactful in a large pot that can take centre stage on a terrace or a balcony, or by a front door. Like all tulips, Tulip 'Foxy Foxtrot' benefits from a free-draining compost or soil mix, and enjoys a sunny to partially shaded position.

Choose full sun or partial shade. Improve heavy soil with organic matter and horticultural grit. For containers, use peat-free multipurpose compost with good drainage.
Plant bulbs pointed side upwards, 15–20cm deep and around 10cm apart. You can leave a little more space between them in borders.
Water once after planting to settle the soil. Border-grown tulips rarely need further watering, but containers should be kept lightly moist and never waterlogged.
Remove faded flowers, then allow the foliage to yellow and die back naturally. This helps the bulbs store energy for the following year.
