Plant tulip bulbs from October to mid-December, once the weather has cooled. Until then, store them somewhere cool, dry and safely away from mice and squirrels.

Tulip 'Eyelash' is a new cultivar, with wonderfully large blooms in the classic tulip shape. The flowers are an amazing two-tone combination of soft white plus a pronounced purple-pink fringe on the upper section of each petal. And, of course, the fringed effect really does make the tulip look like it has eyelashes! It is one of the prettiest and certainly most exotic-looking tulips we have seen. You could say that Tulip 'Eyelash' is eye-catching! It’s a gorgeous new introduction from the nursery of Jan Pennings—in Breezand, the Netherlands—famous for its tulips, so we know this is going to be a winner.
Tulip 'Eyelash' flowers over several weeks in April and May. Don’t forget, also, that it makes an excellent cut flower; its sturdy 55cm stems giving support and height, as well as long-lasting beauty indoors. Tulip 'Eyelash' is in the tulip Division 7, known as the Fringed Group.

Choose full sun or partial shade. Improve heavy soil with organic matter and horticultural grit. For containers, use peat-free multipurpose compost with good drainage.
Plant bulbs pointed side upwards, 15–20cm deep and around 10cm apart. You can leave a little more space between them in borders.
Water once after planting to settle the soil. Border-grown tulips rarely need further watering, but containers should be kept lightly moist and never waterlogged.
Remove faded flowers, then allow the foliage to yellow and die back naturally. This helps the bulbs store energy for the following year.
