“Pulchella” means “beautiful” and there’s no arguing that Tulip pulchella 'Eastern Star' lives up to its pulchritudinous botanical name. It’s a very low-growing species type Tulip with magenta blooms featuring very pretty golden markings at their centres. Tulips originally come from Turkey, and this is one of the species that still grows in the wild there. Apart from having an interesting history and gorgeous blooms, Tulip pulchella 'Eastern Star' has one decided advantage – it blooms just as well year after year.
