Description
As its name suggests, this award-winning Darwin tulip will stand tall over your spring garden, resplendent with a fiery bloom reminiscent of a ceremonial headdress. The Tulip Big Chief has a strikingly unusual flower with its soft yellow base topped by rosy-salmon, flashed with silvery pink. As the sun shines through the opening bud, the flares of colour emerging from the subtle base take the form of feathers on a tribal crown.
Let the Big Chief, who blooms in mid to late spring, watch over other members of the tulip tribe, or plant a group of chiefs as counsellors to the garden village. With good perennial qualities and a tendency to multiply, your tribal leaders should be back next year, with friends.
On the picture behind the little boy, you can see the beautiful yellow Tulip Golden Parade.
